Homemade Granola

I got a granola recipe from my best friend's mom growing up in Honeyville. I changed a few things and this recipe is what we make each year. This is one of my favorite recipes to make in the fall & winter months when it is chilly outside. Not only does it taste so good. It makes my house smell AWESOME (NO candles needed) and it's good for you. I always double this recipe because it goes so fast. Yummy.

Homemade Granola

Ingredients

7 c. oats

2 c. flour (wheat or white)

¾ c. sunflower seeds

¾ c. mixed nuts from Costco or your favorite will do (chopped)

1 c. shredded coconut

1 c. wheat germ, corn meal & flax seed

1 Tbsp sesame seeds

2 Tbsp ground cinnamon

½ c. water

1 c. coconut oil

½ c. agave or honey

1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Mix dry ingredients in a big bowl: oats, flour, sunflower seeds, mixed nuts, shredded coconut, wheat germ, corn meal, and flax seed, sesame seed and ground cinnamon. In sauce pan combine until dissolved: water, Coconut oil, agave or honey and vanilla.

If I don’t have all the ingredients I just use what I have.

Combine wet ingredients with the dry. Pour onto baking sheet (2 baking sheets if you double the recipe) and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour. Stirring every 15 minutes. Let cool.
